Chilton County Jail Roster Overview
The official local lookup starts with the Chilton County Detention Center roster chooser. That page separates the search into Current Inmates and 48 Hour Release. Current Inmates points to people presently listed at the Chilton County Detention Center. The 48 Hour Release path is for people released from the detention center within the last 48 hours. Both paths are public and do not require a login.
The roster is operated by the Chilton County Sheriff's Office for the Chilton County Jail, also referred to in official material as the Chilton County Detention Center. The roster is not a complete criminal-history database, not a court docket, and not a statewide prison locator. It is a live jail-record tool for local custody, booking profiles, booking photos, charge labels, and bond information tied to the jail at 301 City Street in Clanton. The roster chooser also publishes a caution that the information is maintained for visitor convenience and that the detention center cannot certify its accuracy or authenticity.
On the May 27, 2026 inspection date, the current roster title showed 227 current inmates and the release list title showed 8 recent releases. Those counts are useful only as a dated snapshot. The official capacity source is the sheriff corrections page, which lists the jail as a 232-bed facility. Because booking, release, bond, and court events can change throughout the day, use the online result as a starting point and call the jail when the current legal or release status matters.

This roster view is the best first check for a person believed to be in the Clanton jail now, but a person who moved to ADOC, BOP, ICE, or a court-only status may not remain visible there.
How to Use the Chilton County Inmate Roster

Chilton County Roster Search Fields

Booking numbers appear in results and profile URLs, but the public form captured in the research is name-driven.

What a Chilton County Inmate Profile Shows
An inspected public profile on the sheriff roster showed a booking-photo profile layout rather than a full court record. The profile included the person's name, booking number, age, gender, race, arresting agency, booking date, charge list, bond amount, and a warning about changing charges and bail. It did not display date of birth, height, weight, address, court date, case disposition, judge, housing unit, projected release date, or per-charge bond breakdown.

Public Records Request for Older or Missing Jail Records
The sheriff's Public Records Request Form is the local fallback for records not supplied by the public roster. It can be used for inspection or copies of sheriff records, including booking records, incident or offense reports, or a booking photo that is no longer visible online. The form cites Alabama public-records law and must be completed and submitted to the sheriff's office at 500 2nd Avenue North, Clanton, Alabama 35045-3421, Attn: Public Records.
The research notes several limits that should shape expectations. Telephone and fax requests are not accepted. Viewing appointments, when records are available for inspection, are during 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, except holidays. The sheriff attempts to comply within 30 business days after receiving the final production cost. A same-day online roster lookup and a formal record-copy request are therefore different workflows.
Booking and Intake at Chilton County Jail

After the warrant is obtained, district-court cases receive a 72-hour hearing where charges and bond are addressed. Visitation, Attorney Access, and Dress Rules
Public family visitation uses Securus video visitation. Anywhere or home visits are available daily, with a posted no-visitation period from 11:00 a.m. to noon. Mail, Money, Phone, and Property Rules
Personal mail is routed through the Securus Digital Mail Center rather than being accepted directly at the jail. The personal-mail address uses the sender's full name and address, the inmate name and ID number, Chilton County Jail C/O Securus DMC, PO Box 22706, Tampa, FL 33622. Physical mail is scanned for kiosk viewing and destroyed 60 days after upload. Legal mail and money orders are exceptions and must be mailed directly to the facility, so confirm the correct handling with the jail before mailing them.
Phone calls and e-messaging use Securus. Calls may be collect, prepaid, or credit-card calls, and calls are subject to monitoring and recording. Phone-service problems go to Securus at 800-844-6591. Commissary orders are processed Monday at 10:30 p.m. and delivered Wednesday. Funds must be on the inmate account by 5:00 a.m. Monday for that week's store. Deposits can be made at the lobby kiosk by cash, debit, or credit card, or online through www.team3.inmatecanteen.com. Personal checks are not accepted.
Property rules are strict. The jail inventories and stores personal effects at intake, but it does not accept extra clothing, baggage, suitcases, sea bags, tents, or large storage bags. Family members may pick up property during business hours seven days a week with valid photo identification. Many personal-property items must be picked up within 10 days or they may be disposed of or donated. State-sentenced inmates transferred to ADOC may take only legal mail, 25 stamps, 25 envelopes, a Bible or Koran, and one inmate pen; other personal effects go into storage and must be picked up within the jail's 10-day rule.

The public app page did not document an app-only inmate roster, warrant search, public-records request, or release-alert function, so it should be treated as a supplemental official sheriff channel rather than a replacement for the roster or jail phone.
